Belfast Hills Partnership Tree Nursery Open Day

Event Information

Day: Thursday 19th May Time: 11:00 - 13:00. Tickets: FREE, Drop-In

Location: Belfast Hills Partnership, Social Economy Village, Hannahstown Hill, Hannahstown, BT17 0XS

The Belfast Hills Partnership Tree Nursery is a small site dedicated to growing native trees and wildflowers from local seed. It has transform a steep overgrown bank into a set of tiered beds producing a range of saplings for local use. A thriving group of volunteers look after the site and its produce with lots of TLC.

During the open day, there will be staff in the nursery to take informal tours of the seedbeds and range of saplings currently growing. We will also discuss how people can harvest their own tree seeds and grow their own cuttings, with demonstrations of this.

Because of the steep nature of the site there are sets of steps and access might be difficult for some.

Belfast Hills Partnership is a network organisation bringing a wide range of interest groups together to try to manage and protect the Belfast Hills better.
