& watch the incredible Folk Dance Remixed perform “Step Hop House”

Friends of Wandsworth Park May Tree Festival - Remixed A traditional Spring festival with a modern twist. The event puts a park tree at the centre of the celebrations. Children from Roche School have made a crown which will be raised into a birch tree and the tree will be dressed with other decorations. 

At 1pm Folk Dance Remixed will start with a 'Ceilidh Jam', that all-comers can participate in,  around an oak tree. They will then perform their own quirky, colourful and magical collision of traditional and Hip Hop dance and music -  a high energy show with a unique remix of, Clogging, Street, House and Breakdance with a hint of African and Bollywood ... to a live soundtrack of fiddle and beat box. Their show centres around a traditional maypole - that would originally have been a tree. The audience will then be given an opportunity to experience maypole dancing themselves guided by, and with live music supplied by Folk Dance Remixed.
