Hidden Treasure

by Andrea Milde

A poetry project in the London Borough of Merton

Hidden Treasure involves poets from Merton responding to the theme of trees and their habitats, or their absence. Readings by the poets celebrate trees as hidden treasure, which is at risk of being lost forever.

This project raises awareness of beautiful, precious trees and the rich habitats they provide for endangered species (such as bats, hedgehogs, stag beetles and birds).

“Healthy mature trees in Merton are being removed at an alarming rate at a time when we should be appreciating and protecting them and the wildlife that relies on them”, claims campaigner and ethnographic filmmaker, Andrea Milde.
