Create a #TreeTrail guide for your park or town
Share your knowledge and discoveries while you’re out walking
The Tree Council has teamed up with TiCL Media Ltd to help people create online map and App guides. More than two thousand such maps have now be made by individuals and groups across the UK.
Create a #TreeTrail using TiCL App
It’s easy to create a TiCL App guide: Follow the instructions here on The Tree Council website.
Each trail you create generates its own URL with your own logo and weblinks you choose.
So, for example, with the help of a small number of volunteers, Vivienne Barton found and mapped 60 special trees in Brighton using TiCL. You can see the online map she created here.
You can listen to her experiences, and the help TiCL provided her, creating this map on this video
Follow a #TreeTrail
As well as creating tree trails with TiCL App you can use it to discover trees on the trails other people have created.
TiCL App shows the trees, and other points of interest on the trail, in a list.
A picture of the actual tree you’re looking for makes positive identification easy.
‘www’ takes you to an external weblink chosen by the trail creator.
‘Map’ shows you the position of the tree on a Google map and ‘Direct Me’ points you directly to the tree with a simple compass arrow and distance guide so you can go straight there
I hope that you enjoy using the TiCL system to find trees, learn about them and share your discoveries. If you would like more information please contact me:
