Event Information

For many women, the exploration of the urban environment is limited to daylight hours due to concerns around safety.

This means that we miss the opportunity to explore the city at night. However, what often acts as a resistance to that is women joining together to navigate cities in groups. My proposed event is a walk around some local London trees at dusk.

Whilst we do this, using creative lighting initiatives, e.g., fairy lights, glowsticks, etc, to highlight the issues around safety whilst enjoying some of the wonderful city trees available in London.

We will share stories and laughs. The start and end of the walk will be at a tube station to enable attendees to feel safe attending and getting home.

What to bring…

Participants would be encouraged to bring tree facts, flasks of tea, suggestions of favourite trees, in an area sent to them in advance.
