Art of Climbing Trees (ACT) is a book based on a diary by Henrik G Dahle. The author climbed a tree every day for a year through 10 countries, and recorded conversations with over 80 ‘co-climbers’.

It’s taken 15 years to complete – writing prose, editing conversations, photography, creating art, and researching the many tangents the ‘walkabout’ presented.

Art of Climbing Trees (ACT) is a book based on a diary by Henrik G Dahle. The author climbed a tree every day for a year through 10 countries, and recorded conversations with over 80 ‘co-climbers’. It’s taken 15 years to complete – writing prose, editing conversations, photography, creating art, and researching the many tangents the ‘walkabout’ presented: art, science/biology, anthropology/family, history/mythology, economy, etc. The book presents the eccentric, personal adventure of an artist, alongside his grandiose political thesis for a green transition.

Launching Art of Climbing Trees will reflect the nature of this colourful book; a joyful theatrical celebration featuring many of the adventure’s participants, an exhibition, and music. The book may even literally be launched.

Most of the 365 trees were urban trees, and it will be easy to weave in the London Tree ring since ACT is very concerned with transforming cities with trees. The ring is a great symbol for this vision.
