This is a collaboration walk between Black Girls Hike, Epping Forest Heritage Trust, and The Hive, returning for the 3rd year during the Urban Tree Festival!

Event Information

Last years Family Forest Walk!

A gentle walk from Chingford Station to The Hive and back through the beautiful Epping Forest, learning ecology and history of the Forest along the way. There will also be a range of family-friendly nature-based activities. We'll stop at The Hive for a lunch break and activities before walking back to Chingford Station where the event will end.

Black Girls Hike (BGH)
Founded in 2019, Black Girls Hike provides a safe space for Black women to explore the outdoors. Challenging the status quo and encouraging Black women to reconnect with nature, they host nationwide group hikes, outdoor activity days, and training events.

Epping Forest Heritage Trust
A charity and membership organisation with a mission to inspire people about Epping Forest, and to conserve and protect its irreplaceable biodiversity, culture, and heritage now and for generations to come. They operate across the whole of Epping Forest from Manor Park in East London to Epping in Essex.

The Hive (formerly Suntrap)
Nestled deep in Epping Forest, The Hive offers outdoor educational activities for schools, families, adults, and community groups. With a legacy of over fifty years, and holders of the Department for Education-approved Council for Learning Outside the Classroom award, many of their users return again and again. Learn about the natural environment firsthand and explore actions that tackle climate and ecological emergencies.

We suggest a donation of £5 per event ticket and you can easily donate by clicking the donate button. Larger donations are always welcomed.
