When a group of Hackney locals discover that a property developer has been granted permission by the Council to fell a huge, much-loved 150-year-old street tree which even has its own name, The Happy Man Tree, they do everything they can to try to save it. Following the film there will be a Q&A with members of the Notice This Tree campaign.

Join us for a special screening of Happy Man Tree, a moving film that tells the story of a beloved 150-year-old street tree in Hackney — so cherished by the community that it even has its own name. When local residents discover that a property developer has been granted permission to fell the tree, they come together in a powerful effort to protect it, revealing the deep connections between people, place, and nature.
