Golders Hill Park in North West London has an unusual number of mature and veteran trees of different species. These include the magnificent old Bandstand Oak, a 120 year old black mulberry and some veteran pear trees in the relic of a Victorian orchard.

Event Information

Join local resident and co-founder of the Urban Tree Festival, Peter Coles, in a leisurely and informative walk through Golders Hill Park in North West London. The park has an unusual number of mature and veteran trees of different species, including the magnificent old Bandstand Oak, a 120 year old black mulberry and some veteran pear trees in the relic of a Victorian orchard.

Peter is a cultural historian and researcher specialising in heritage trees, especially the mulberry, and is the author of Mulberry, a global cultural history published in 2019 by Reaktion Books. He is also the co-founder, with the Conservation Foundation, of Morus Londinium, a website and research project dedicated to the UK's unique mulberry tree heritage.

The walk starts and finishes in the same place.

A cultural historian and researcher, specialising in heritage trees, especially the mulberry. He is the author of Mulberry, a global cultural history published in 2019 by Reaktion Books, and is the co-founder, with the Conservation Foundation, of Morus Londinium, a website and research project dedicated to the UK's unique mulberry tree heritage. Peter was one of the original co-founders of the Urban Tree festival, back in 2018.
