Join us for a gentle walkshop in Holloway Estate Gardens. Clare Barry of Urban Curiosity will guide you through Forest Bathing and creative activities inspired by the natural world. Using mindfulness, gentle movement and creative prompts, we’ll uncover hidden details in the green spaces on your doorstep, track the movement of light and shadow and collect small moments of wonder along the way. This is your invitation to slow down, unplug and see things differently. We hope you join us for this relaxed and fun gathering on the estate.
Forest Bathing is a simple yet powerful practice of immersing yourself in nature, allowing the sights, sounds and smells of the outdoors to rejuvenate your mind and body. It’s about slowing down, taking in the beauty around you and letting go of the stress that builds up in our busy, everyday lives. Even in an urban setting like Holloway Estate Gardens, we can experience the calming and restorative benefits of nature.
In this guided walkshop, you’ll have the option to participate in creative activities, such as making a tiny zine or working with natural materials found on the walk. But if you prefer to simply enjoy the experience of being in nature and practising mindfulness, that’s fine too! There’s no need to create or join every activity — it’s all about whatever feels right for you.
We’ll explore:
Using walking as a tool to calm your down and boost your creativity
Noticing small details in the landscape — light, shadow and natural sounds
The hidden stories of trees — rings, roots and what they can teach us
Simple creative prompts using natural materials—stones, twigs and shadows
Taking time to breathe, relax and feel a little lighter
How it helps:
Encourages relaxation and mindfulness through gentle movement
Supports creative expression with easy, accessible techniques
Reduces stress by fostering focus and presence in nature
Helps build emotional resilience by reconnecting with natural rhythms
