Nature Writing: Self Discovery In The Urban Forest
A Guest Blog from author and leadership coach and Jackee Holder.
Join Jackee for her workshop at 10.20 on the 20th May.
London has a huge canopy of diverse trees across the streets of the capital. It’s very much a green city despite its rap as a concrete jungle. The city as with many other UK towns and cities is abundant with nature. We need our trees more than ever. In this well-being workshop you will locate the important lessons you can learn about yourself through the writing with trees journal prompts.
You will identify trees with personal meaning in your neighbourhood and craft a piece of writing that captures their importance.
Finally you will apply nature inspired prompts for journaling and creative self expression.
You will leave with tools and techniques that will inspire you to get to know the trees and places of nature in your neighbourhood and bring them alive through writing and creative reflection.
Jackee Holder has nurtured a long passion with trees in London particularly the trees South of the river. She has developed a well being practice that uses her knowledge of London trees and her passion for walking the city to help people use past and present relationships with trees and nature as tools for self reflection and as a means to better understanding and appreciation of the self.
Jackee is a coach and recently trained as a therapist with the Psychosynthesis Trust. She is the author of the Writing With Fabulous Trees’s Writing Map and the Writing Through The Wisdom of Trees online course for the IAJW.
She will be launching a new series of nature based online courses in the summer.
