Event Information
There is a great story lining many of our busy streets, our local parks and perhaps even right outside your front door. A story about style, cross-cultural creativity and resilience. It’s the story of one of London’s most iconic, yet invisible figures - the London Plane tree.
Plane Spotting is a guided interactive walking tour which takes people on a journey around the Kilburn Park area using London Plane trees as significant cultural landmarks. Through Linett Kamala’s local storytelling and Sam Furness’ guided creative activities, you will learn why the London Plane is one of London’s most important (yet unrecognised) icons.
Kilburn Park is an area with ongoing heavy regeneration and its mature trees are falling victim to this changing urban landscape.
Come and enjoy a couple of hours of appreciation and conversation with these long-standing residents (the London Planes!).
