Event Information

Over the last four years, The Tree Council has led a major research collaboration with Defra and five local authorities through the Trees Outside Woodland project. In this online talk, three lead project officers will share what they've learned across three innovative pilot schemes:

  • Miyawaki Mini Forests – How this dense planting method has succeeded where previous urban tree planting failed

  • Tree Scheme Effectiveness – Lessons from planting trees in varied non-woodland settings

  • Community Tree Nurseries – Growing trees from local seed while building social, connected communities

These approaches not only improve our urban treescapes but strengthen people’s connection with the natural world around them.
