Street Trees for Living Citizen Science Workshop

An opportunity for tree and urban nature enthusiasts to be part of a local, impactful Lewisham citizen science programme in Summer 2026.

Join us on Saturday 10am-12pm for an introductory session and find out more about our volunteering opportunities. Our ambition is to form a dedicated volunteer group who can support us this summer with our annual ‘tree health check’. Your contribution will help us maintain a high standard of tree establishment, ensuring the future survival of our street trees.

Come along to learn more about street trees, our approach to community stewardship, and we’ll share training on how to survey a tree. No prior knowledge or experience is required; this is an accessible activity, and a moment to learn, share and get to know each other.

We’ll use the time to work together on plans for surveying our trees this summer, with various volunteering options available, including working independently, drop-in workshops, group street tree trails and evening tree care sessions. Refreshments provided, please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements.

Street Trees for Living is a community tree-planting charity with its roots here in Lewisham. We work collaboratively with residents, schools, community groups and local councils to plan, plant and care for street trees. We aim to increase climate resilience and improve health and well-being for all communities.
