Nearest transport is Abbey Wood Station on the Elizabeth Line, a ten minute walk. Attendees should meet by Chestnut Kiosk and the group will be walked down to The Clearing (outdoor learning spaces).
Event Information
The Wishing Tree is a storytelling show for children and their families set deep in the forest at Lesnes Abbey Woods in South East London. Attendees will be guided from the Chestnut Kiosk through the ancient woodland down to The Clearing, an outdoor learning space nestled within the woods.
Once there, published author and Tree Guardian Bernadette Russell will bring tree stories to life in a natural forest setting, creating an immersive experience that connects children and families with the wonder of trees and the woodland around them. The nearest transport is Abbey Wood Station on the Elizabeth Line, approximately a ten minute walk from the meeting point.

Bernadette Russell
Bernadette Russell is a published author, playwright and storyteller. She is resident storyteller at Lesnes Abbey Wood, and a regular storyteller at Butser Ancient Farm in Hampshire. She also tells stories for the Sustainability Centre in Hampshire, for Trees for Cities and Trees for Bermondsey. Bernadette has previously told stories at many venues including Royal Albert Hall, National Theatre, Southbank Centre and Tate Britain. She is a Tree Guardian with Street Trees for Living.
