This tour will be led by BIFoR Learning and Engagement Lead, Dr Sam Dobbie and Birmingham Botanical Gardens Curator Lance Goffort for an hour long walk to discover the incredible value of urban trees, the tree collection, and the scientific partnership.
Event Information
Dr Sam Dobbie, BIFoR Learning and Engagement Lead at the University of Birmingham, and Lance Goffort, Curator of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, will lead an hour long walking tour through the Gardens to discover the incredible value of urban trees.
The tour will explore the Gardens' tree collection and the scientific partnership between Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Birmingham Institute of Forest Research. Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a charitable organization that has been sharing J.C.
Loudon's original 1829 garden design and a collection of 7,000 plants with millions of people for nearly two centuries, and the Gardens have become an integral part of Birmingham's physical, educational, cultural, and emotional landscape.
