Urban Tree Festival events in Edinburgh

Urban Tree Festival has spread its roots across the United Kingdom. There is particularly strong interest in the festival this year from those that live in Edinburgh. This comes as no surprise, as Edinburgh is a city that is known to have the most amount of green space of any city in the UK, with more trees than people! The program includes online, hybrid and real-life events taking place from within Edinburgh.

Take a look at some of our Edinburgh events below, and pick yourself up a ticket while you have the chance!

Saturday the 15th of May – Mindful Doodling

Why not start you weekend with some Mindful Doodling, with Maggie Carson and Geoffrey Baines. This creative, free online workshop will give you the opportunity to relax, slow down, and explore the benefits of doodling.

The event will start off with you colouring in some provided images of trees, which allows everyone to engage in a unified sense of concentration and mindfulness. Then you will be introduced to the twelve basic shapes of the visual alphabet, which can aid and guide your drawings. Finally, you can identify, and attempt to represent a tree (or part of a tree) that means something to you by producing a doodle of it.

Important things to note:

The event takes place Saturday 15th of May from 11:30am – 1:00pm.

Experience is not required - Anyone can doodle!

Have blank A4 paper, a pencil and colouring pencils close by.
