Guided Forest Bathing in Beckenham Place Park

08:00 Join Andrew Jenkins from the London Borough of Lewisham Council as he guides through the woodlands of Beckenham Place Park, to experience forest bathing. On-the-ground event. While forest bathing usually takes place in larger, wild woodland or forest, Andrew is keen to show you how some of the techniques can be used in our urban green spaces, which sometimes, is all we have available to us.

Journaling With The Inner and Outer Nature Self Discovery Card Deck

10:30 An hour’s slow meandering in nature on the page. Led by Jackee Holder. The Inner and Outer Nature Self Discovery card deck launched in 2021 are a series 49 nature and tree inspired writing prompts. The writing prompts are a gentle way of reconnecting with nature both on the outside and the inside. Each question in the card deck draws from the rich metaphors and rhythms of nature.


Midday Modern Conversation on Mulberry Trees with Hogarth House

12:00 Mulberry expert Dr Peter Coles will talk about mulberry trees and in particular Hogarth House’s historic mulberry tree in the garden, which is the last living remnant of the garden’s origin as a 17th century orchard. In this special live edition of Midday Modern Conversations, mulberry expert Dr Peter Coles will speak to Hogarth’s House John Collins about mulberry trees. A Q+A will follow.

15:00 A creative nature writing on-line workshop with author and poet, Electra Rhodes. Come and write about the things that inspire you in nature - whether it’s trees, the urban or rural landscape, or your relationship to either. No previous writing experience is necessary.


Belfast and its Streets of Trees

15:30 Join renowned street tree expert Mark Johnston and Alan McHaffie of Belfast City Council to hear the fascinating story of Belfast’s street trees past, present and future. Introduced by Landscape Architect James Hennessey.

We suggest a donation of £5 per event and you can easily donate when booking your ticket. Larger donations are always welcomed.
